One of the suites in the Bristol Palace
Genoa is one of the most beautiful and dynamic cities in Italy, a crossroads for constant travellers, a sea port packed with possibilities. Since it opened in 1905, Bristol Palace has always been a brilliant back-up for the place’s vocation, hosting famous guests from everywhere in the world. Decorated in the art nouveau style, the hotel was chosen by high society at the start of the twentieth century as the setting for legendary parties, much loved for its exclusive restaurant. The Bristol maintains an elegance that withstands time and can be noted in every room and suite.
Meeting guests’ every whim
Combining history, luxury, gastronomic tradition and new technologies is one of the Bristol Palace’s specialities. Its secret is the way it preserves the excellence of tradition, while at the same time constantly renewing itself to always stay a step ahead of the field. Guiding the way are the guests themselves and their needs, with the hotel welcoming their demand for larger spaces, for the opportunity to work and enjoy themselves by exploiting technology, and to have an ideal base for visiting the surroundings. After all, insofar as it is popular with sports lovers, families and nature lovers – who can choose between the sea to the front and the mountains to the rear – Genoa is a destination suitable for any “target”.
Nosing around the rooms and suites
Let’s take a close look at the interiors: there are 133 rooms, of which 5 are Suites, mostly furnished in the art nouveau style, completely refurbished and total soundproofed. There is no shortage of spacious Family rooms, outfitted with cots and small beds for kids. The suites are filled with designer details and antique furniture that mirrors the hotel’s historic past, and all have a spacious lounge complete with sofa, writing desk, armchairs and an entrance completely independent from the bedroom to ensure maximum privacy.
To meet the need for more room, two new XXL suites, in which the bedrooms alone measure 56 square metres, were added recently. They both have pleasant verandas overlooking Piazza De Ferrari and are ready to accommodate groups of friends or numerous families with two large double beds and a sofa bed.
The feather in the Bristol Palace’s cap, finally, is the Entertainment Suite, entirely given over to lovers of virtual games, computers, technology and videogames – in other words, geeks. The living room is a spacious lounge outfitted with high-tech gadgetry, a playstation, pre-charged next generation games, a curved 65” Samsung smart TV with paid Wi-Fi internet connection and a Dolby Surround 7.1 sound system. Crossing the threshold is like entering a parallel dimension of fun and entertainment. But not for the whole of your stay. After all, we are right in the centre of Genoa, a short walk from Palazzo Ducale and Piazza de Ferrari, from the Teatro Carlo Felice and the most important museums and palaces, where wonders are in store all around.
