Jewelry to wear and savor

Jewelry to wear and savor

|

On Wednesday, April 4, at the Hotel Bristol Palace in Genoa, a delightful interplay unfolds between food-themed jewelry—created by a team of young designers—and jewel-inspired desserts by Maître pâtissier Fabrizio Galla: creations to admire and savor until April 15, 2018.

This is the second stop of the traveling exhibition organized in the prestigious venues of the Duetorrihotels Group in Bologna, Genoa, Verona, and Florence.

Sweet Conversations

Finally spring: Genoa awakens, with the scent of blooming terraces and the sea breeze inviting you to enjoy the beautiful days. An original and unique proposal, developed in collaboration with the Accademia Maestri Pasticceri Italiani, revolves around the idea of food-themed jewelry—crafted from natural and sustainable materials—and jewel-inspired desserts, creating a playful mirror effect that highlights ‘the value of beauty and goodness.

The works of 10 young designers, selected through a competition curated by Circuiti Dinamici to promote a new aesthetic in contemporary jewelry, will be paired with the creations of Fabrizio Galla, a pure expression of refined Italian tradition. The chef will present 'Infinity,' a chocolate-based creation with caramel, passion fruit, and crunchy hazelnut, set on a special crown—a chocolate composition resting on a jewelry display bust.

Pastry Chef Fabrizio Galla

Technique, high-quality ingredients, and aesthetic care are the hallmarks of Fabrizio Galla. A student of the master Iginio Massari, he developed a passion for pastry from a young age, earning prestigious international awards, including the 2007 World Pastry Cup in Lyon. After several highly formative years in San Francisco, Galla returned to Italy to work alongside Michelin-starred chef Matteo Baronetto at Il Cambio in Turin, serving as head of the pastry department associated with the restaurant. In 2016, the venue was named ‘Newcomer of the Year’ by the Gambero Rosso pastry guide.

But Fabrizio Galla has not forgotten his roots: in San Sebastiano Po, where he grew up, he recently opened a pastry shop that has become a flagship for the entire region. His specialties include chocolate and leavened baked goods such as panettone and colomba, along with the many desserts that celebrate the pride of Piedmontese tradition.
