Tacchini collection
The Tacchini Collection. Act I – Sculpture and Works on Paper, until 25 September 2022, Wolfsoniana in Nervi. More than fifteen years after the first meeting between Micky Wolfson and Francesco Tacchini—facilitated by their shared acquaintance with the gallerist Giovanni Paganelli—the Tacchini Collection arrives at the Wolfsoniana, thus formalising the establishment of a Trust between Palazzo Ducale di Genova – Fondazione per la Cultura and the collector for the management and promotion of his substantial and valuable art collection.
For this first exhibition event, the selection focuses on works on paper and sculpture that can best reflect the varied identity and main distinguishing features of the collection.
Two main strands develop within this path: on the one hand, it documents key aspects of sculptural, graphic, and pictorial research in Liguria during the years between the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century; on the other, it presents—through a broad and articulated international overview—some of the most significant experiences of the historical avant-gardes of the 20th century.
