On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Group unveils a new concept within the Italian hospitality scene: the vintage aesthetic of classic travel posters is reimagined in a contemporary key through a series of four handmade maps—one for each hotel and its region—created to inspire new travel routes. The Duetorrihotels properties in Bologna, Verona, Florence, and Genoa become the starting points for fresh itineraries, guided by the vision of a contemporary artist.

The maps and the itineraries

In Genoa, around the Bristol Palace, an itinerary unfolds across Liguria, exploring the coastline and its towns—Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo with its cable car, the Cinque Terre and La Spezia—and, on the other side, the Riviera dei Fiori with Imperia, Sanremo and the Monte Carlo Casino. The journey then ventures inland aboard the Casella train, leading toward the hinterland and its military forts—true stone sentinels—and stretches as far as the Langhe region.

Marta Iorio

The artist, originally from Naples and a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, has developed her career through a range of national and international experiences, exhibiting in Italy, Spain, France, Mexico, and Japan. She works across painting, ceramics, editorial illustration, as well as the creation of artworks and interior design projects.

A collaborator with numerous publications and cultural institutions—from Vogue Italia to the Educational Section of the Venice Biennale, from the Goethe-Institut to Mexico’s National Council for Culture and the Arts—she has established Officina Margherita in Bologna as her studio and creative workshop.
