GENOA TRIBUTES TO AMEDEO MODIGLIANI
Finally the time of the long-awaited solo exhibition of Amedeo Modigliani’s works has arrived. Modigliani – or Modì, as he is better known – painter and artist from Livorno, became famous to the public only after his death and he is now considered one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century.
The exhibition features about thirty works, including studies, drawings, watercolors and tempera paintings from important museums and prestigious European and American collections. In particular, the exhibition will focus on Modigliani’s French period and his artistic experience in Paris. Portraits are the key element of Modigliani’s career, and also the focus of the exhibition that will display the most famous portraits and nudes. In Modigliani’s works, which leans towards purity and absolute elegance, faces tend to a formal simplicity that had never seen.
